“Child-driven, hands on play is the foundation of creativity, constructive problem solving, and the capacity to self-regulate” (Susan Linn p.2 in Dana Foundation’s Brain in the News, vol. 21, no.6). Play is the child’s language. Using the healing power of therapeutic play, the child leads the way to healthier development, relationships, and healthy sense of self. In addition to the Child-Centered Play Therapy approach, I incorporate cognitive-behavioral play-based interventions and attachement-based play therapy to help children increase social-emotional development and connection skills.
